HTML and Hosting?

I have written HTML code in textpad to design a website. I am now going to purchase a domain from a company to host my website. Do I give them the code or do I have to use a certain software to get it published on the web using the domain I will purchase?

HTML and Hosting?

I assume that not only will you buy the domain from them, that they%26#039;re going to host your site for you? If so, they%26#039;ll give you instructions for transferring the HTML and associated files onto their servers.

Often, this is FTP which you should already have on your machine, but they sometimes give that to you too.

If you don%26#039;t buy the hosting from them, then you%26#039;ll need to find someone who will or allow your computer to be visable on the internet. (I don%26#039;t recommed that unless you%26#039;re a networking pro.)

40GB Web Space 70GB Traffic/Bandwidth No Limit domains No Limit eMaill Accounts Front Page Ready No Limit FTP Accounts One Time Fee-399.99 ?!?!?!?!

That%26#039;s a ripoff for only 40 gig%26#039;s of space and 70 gig%26#039;s of bandwidth.

Check out http://eleven2.com - http://mediatemple.net or http://dreamhost.com for affordable and excellent web hosting. 24/7 tech support as well.

Other Replys:No you won%26#039;t give them the code. Once subscribed with a hosting company, they%26#039;ll provide you with an FTP server (i.e an online server where you will place your HTML pages).

You%26#039;re responsibility will be uploading your HTML files there. There is a variety of ways to do that. The simplest is using your IE browser to upload HTML files via copy paste files from your computer.

Hope this helps.
