Cheapest way to register and host a website?

I found this place that does $1 Web Hosting:

http://www.3ix.org

I found this place that does $6.95 1 Year Domain Registration (.COM):

http://www.godaddy.com

Is this the cheapest way? I don%26#039;t want geocities, etc.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months%26#039; time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend...

They offer hosting of %26quot;unlimited domains%26quot; and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer %26quot;a free Domain Name%26quot; and installing service called %26quot;Fantastico%26quot;. By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer %26quot;Free Website Builder%26quot; as well.

Visit the site to check details.

Well, it certainly comes close, if not.

You have to bear in mind, though, that the cheapest web hosting in dollar terms may not be the cheapest in terms of stress and being able to work with the people that run it. The cheaper hosts tend to have REALLY iffy staff, so if you get a problem, you end up tearing your hair out. Having said that, *most* hosts I have used have had staff that either treat you like something the dog brought up or like a retarded 2-year old, or both - or just don%26#039;t bother dealing with your problem at all.

The only really helpful techs I have come across so far in the hosting world (and I%26#039;ve been through a few) are the ones here:

http://www.okget.info/iz/hosting

but the fees there are $7.95 a month minimum, and that%26#039;s with 2 years paid in advance.

They do have oodles of space, unlimited domains, lots of extras, and everything you could possibly need to run a site, though. I have 30 domains on there, taking up a teeny corner - not even 1% - of the space I was allocated for my $7.95 a month.

There%26#039;s another problem with really cheap hosting, which is that it may go down for long periods with no explanation, or it may be really slow. It may even disappear completely overnight and never be seen again...

Other Replys:Try this site, The hosting is very in-expensive and the service is great, I host my own site with it. They also have a SiteBuilder which can be used to design your site

They give you a free .com Domain with any hosting plan

Other Replys:Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a %26quot;homepage%26quot; which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the %26quot;homepage%26quot; URL is likely to be %26quot;http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name%26quot; and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., %26quot;mydomain.com%26quot; which allows you to link any registered domain name to %26quot;mask%26quot; another website. For example, should you type in the %26quot;domain name,%26quot; you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!

Other Replys:I agree with VicSEO - I am currently making a free site with Geocities, and I have registered a .tk domain (also for free) that I have re-directed to the Geocities site.

So, I will promote my site as http://www.homeschoolnwga.tk , but visitors to that address will actually view my free site at http://www.geocities.com/homeschoolnwga

To do this with a top level extension like .com or .net you will have to pay for a domain name. If you don%26#039;t mind the .tk extension and a small banner ad at the top of your page, you can get a free domain at http://www.dot.tk

Good luck and God bless!

Other Replys:If you are planing to use your website for business purpose, do not go for cheapest option. What if your website is not available 10% of the time ? Rather try good web hosting provider like http://aplis.net/

Else you can use free webhosting provider like awardspace
