I%26#039;ve turned on IIS on my computer at home and other computers on my local network can access my website I set up so I know the web site and the server are working. I know very little about DNS and nameservers, but basically I got this thing called DNS2go which is supposed to allow people without static IP addresses to host a website. DNS2go is a program that you put on your server that continuously updates your current IP address whenever it changes with the DNS2go website. All you do is point your registered domain name to their nameservers and it is supposed to work. I know the DNS2go service has pointed my domain name to my IP address, but for some reason, when you type in my domain name outside of my network (anywhere else) it won%26#039;t work.
I thought (and have been told) that it was my router, and that I just needed to open port 80. I did that and it still didn%26#039;t work. So I hooked my server directly to the modem and it still doesn%26#039;t work. What else could be wrong?? Please help!

Normally, to access a server behind a router, you have to set up a virtual server on the router.
This would allow the external or WAN side IP address to be redirected on the LAN side to the ip address you have configured in the router table.
Check your router manual and see how to set up a virtual server.
Also, the IP address that people can see is not the IP address you see on your LAN side, you would need to get the ip address the router gets when it connects to your ISP.
If you click over to http://whatismyipaddress.com you will find your external ip address. This is the address you have to use for your web server.
This is the address you should use in the DNS2go settings.
Good luck.
