Our web designer is getting a little lax early in our site development. She is missing deadlines and has not contacted us with the information we have asked for. She is supposed to be finished with the site by the end of May 2006.
Since she has shown not to be as business like, we dont want to put the value of our site in her hands. We want to jump ship once we sign off on the website and give her the final balance due (50% up front, balance at final).
What do we need as far as our new website is concerned to fully divest and host it with a yahoo instead.
Once a webpage is finished, is it easy to move it to a site for hosting? Dont want the developer to host it.?
Use Ready Hosting. It%26#039;s only $99 a year and will handle almost all internet technologies. PHP, ASP, CGI, etc. It%26#039;s all included.

Next time, give me the work and you won%26#039;t regret it...

I strongly suggest against hosting a website with Yahoo. Especially if you%26#039;ve paid for it to be created.
If you value it enough to have paid for the creation, then surely you would value it enough to pay for hosting.
I suggest using DreamHost. They%26#039;re a GREAT hosting company with amazing prices. Their customer service is amazing. I once had a problem with a subdomain not registering and they solved it with just three emails. They%26#039;re very great.
Other Replys:If you already have a domain name, then you need a hosting server. You can configure yahoo hosting services to point to your hosting server, this will associate your domain name with and IP address. Make sure the home page (landing page)of the website is index.html, or default.html.. and you are ready to go.
Other Replys:How frustrating for you. However, have you tried contacting your web designer to find out why she%26#039;s missed deadlines and why she hasn%26#039;t contacted you? There may be extenuating circumstances.
However, there is also an obligation to complete work that%26#039;s been contracted for or, at the very least, to be in contact with the client.
With that said, I can understand that you would not want to host your site with someone that is not available for you. I can highly recommend Preferred-Hosting at http://www.preferred-hosting.com/. I am a web designer and I host my sites there and I also recommend them to my clients.
What you would need to do would be to first decide on a hosting company and then transfer your website%26#039;s domain over to the new hosting company. It%26#039;s an easy task to perform and any quality hosting company would certainly be able to help you with this.
