Setting up a web server?

I was wondering how i would do this? (not so much as setting up a web server)

I own a domain. And i have a web server setup and everything working fine on my localhost. For development and testing reason before i go with a seperate host for my website i was wondering this information.

How can i set it up when people go to my domain that my webpage on my web server comes up and is tied to my website at the domain i own?

Change you DNS setting for your domain name.... pointing to a domain name is all in the DNS settings.....
